PERFECTLY EXPLAINED!!: Does Anyone Know The Different Between The Mediterranean Diet And Clean Eating?

Rank10best.blogspot.com

Yes, clean eating is rinsing your food (Lol) before eating, and Mediterranean is a balanced healthy eating, mainly fish and vegetables, which is clean eating anyways. Anything crest and not out of the packet is clean eating. However, Mediterranean is one form if clean eating. I wouldn't sat there's much of a difference. I think it's all labels at the end of the day. As long as you're eating fresh whole foods, it doesn't really matters which healthy you chose to follow. Some things are okay to eat from the packet such as rice and pasta, but making sure there are no additives added - is clean eating. Ready made rice is not clean for eating.

Clean eating is clean - no processed foods, organic, grass fed. Mediterranean doesn't specify organic; more like type of food (veggies, fruit, lean protein). Clean eating is in the "eye of the beholder". What's clean to one may not be too clean to another. Yes, mediterranean is considered a clean healthy diet, but it is more a style of food. To me, clean eating is unprocessed, freshly cooked, no preservatives, no jarred/boxed pre-ready foods. Mediterranean diet is also clean by proxy. So they are sort of the same in that regard. However, clean doesn't always mean organic; that's simply a way to grow foods. I noticed a few articles regarding these. Clean eating is not just plant-based. It means food in its natural state, or as close to it as possible. Plant based would be more vegan, and it can be "dirty food" vegan.

I actually love the Mediterranean diet, and there are so many diets out there that you can turn anyone of them into a clean eating to fit you and what you like. I eat a Mediterranean diet. It's plant forward but not vegetarian. So when I meal plan, I figure out what salad, veggies or legumes I want first, and I might add fish or chicken. And most nights, no meat. I like it. I feel better on it. If you pursue it, I highly recommend "America's Test Kitchen Mediterranean Diet Cookbook". It's a good place to start and they try to use ingredients native to the Mediterranean's. Most ingredients are pretty easily found. I've only had 1 or 2 that required a specialty grocery or an Amazon order.

To sum it all up. Clean eating is eating whole foods and avoiding processed foods, added sugar, preservative and non-food ingredients. The Mediterranean diet is based on foods typically eaten in the Mediterranean region. It is considered a very clean diet because it focuses on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, olive oil, fish and poultry and minimally processed foods. One a diet, one a lifestyle change. To me, Mediterranean diet is a style of food. Clean eating is not a diet nor a way of eating, nor had it been researched in depth so far, as this is more an attitude to food. The Mediterranean on the other hand, is a clean eating lifestyle if done correctly. It's not really a matter of difference. Clean eating is no processed foods and eating organic when you can.

It's pretty much the same thing: That's the diet most  doctors recommend if you wanna lose weight or clean up your diet. Both diets are almost identical. I believe clean eating to be fresh, natural. They recommends either or both for medical issues such as gallstones. Doctors recommended the Mediterranean diet mostly for high blood pressure and cholesterol issues. And also cancer patients are always advised to go for the Mediterranean diet instead. It is pretty much smaller and more frequent meals. The Mediterranean diet help boost your metabolism. However, it isn't for everyone. For some, they actually gained weight. So if you're going to try and diet, I would recommend you get a blood test done and learn your diet.

You can really fond which to chose just through a blood test. Your DNA is the blueprint of your body. It is the book of you we just can't read it - can find what you need in nutrition to allergies to illnesses.

In conclusion, both diet are similar in some ways. I would think clean eating would mean only organic, grass fed and pasture raised items, as most people do believe clean eating is plant-based. Well it can be, but not exclusive - individuals choice. Clean eating simply means you stay away from eating processed foods. Fresh/fresh frozen without any additives or preservatives. Not everyone who is clean eating does plant-based. You should check this!!!

Moreover, not all so-called organic, grass fed and pasture raised items ate free range organic per say. Most are absolutely fouls; not worth eating, fed GMO and hormones and antibiotics. Most store-bought items are injected with preservatives to make them last longer. It's hard to get any quality foods. Especially in the USA, it's factory farmed, raised on GMO grains, as is pork. Unless you can source pasture raised organically, it's best to go for the Mediterranean diet. Mediterranean is clean. It's named for the region where diet was studied and thought to attribute to longevity. So, avoid factory farmed foods and especially readymade packaged foods. Go for all fresh homemade food based on vegetables, lean meats and fish with olive oil - sounds clean to me.
