Looking for the best low carb sugar-free keto sweeteners?
Steeves, Joseph's, ChocZero, Splenda and Lakanto are different brands of sugar free maple syrup you can get from the supermarket. They are type of sweeteners you can use for sweetening savory things (soups, sauces, salads, salad dressing e.t.c) and for sweetening sweet things (pancakes, desserts e.t.c). These sugar free maple syrup are either made from STEVIA or Monk fruits, which are considered natural sweeteners. But unfortunately, most of the so-called "sugar free maple syrup" brands are blended and most of the content is erythritol which is synthetic. Some add Maltodextrin as a filler. Maltodextrin is rotten stuff, it really mess with the digestive system.The vitamin shops has a whole line of skinny syrups but there is nothing better than Lakanto.
Lakanto sells a decent sugar free version of maple syrup. It's made with Monk fruit and it is Keto friendly, vegan with 1g net carbs. Lakanto is not just a sweetener, it can also replace your regular table sugar. You can use in Pancakes, Waffles, Oatmeal, Coffee, Tea, Granola, Frosting, Marinade and so on. It is very difficult to find though, and the prices also differs with outlet. Getting Lakanto online can cost you more like $9. However, it's worth $9, but you can usually find it local for way less. $4.7 Winco, Ross, Home goods e.t.c
Whichever sugar free maple syrup brand you choose - your preference. However, you should go for one that is Keto approved and low carbs; but stay away from Splenda. I am trying to figure out why Splenda is so bad, even though I found articles online that says the studies shows that it's perfectly safe. Splenda is man-made. Not a natural sweetener. At least that is what I was told. Most people complained of breakouts in hives all over and gut issues. I have read (but not firsthand studies) that Splenda is very bad for gut health, and since it is a man-made artificial sweetener, some say it's bad for the brain. Accidentally, I have many friends who get joint pain when eating it. So, it is best you give it all up.
In case you want to make your own maple syrup:-
* 1 Cup of Xylitol,
* 1/2 Cup of water,
* Teaspoon of maple extract. Bring to a boil and enjoy.
Xylitol is one other sweetener but not so Keto. And also, you should avoid Xylitol if you have dogs. You don't want to risk them eating something that might have it in them, as it's poisonous to pets.
Lastly, there are various homemade sugar free maple syrup you can try if you don't want to spend much money on brands. It's super easy to make and there are several videos on YouTube. So, try gradually work away from sweet testes. The trick is to experiment and find the best combo. Once you've got that licked, you're on your way to tasty treats.
