Would it Be Beneficial To Use A Weighted Vest When Doing Squats, Calf Raises Etc?
If you don't just have a barbell or something, yes. Generally speaking the vest is only beneficial for those who are pushing towards a goal with endurance. Any loading on the body is extra load to work the muscles. Yeah you can load a vest evenly back and front and watch that lower back. Then load the bar as needed. I am guessing it's for those who don't have enough weights. I don't recommend a backpack, unless it has a waist strap, and you have a forward balance as well, but then you should just get more weights.A vest is extra weight on the body. Anything body weight related can benefit from it. Also it depends on what you mean by “beneficial”, but generally no, you will stress the joints more than muscles.
