Walnuts comes in different forms. These nuts are available in many countries and are eaten for it health benefits. The Africa Walnut, for example, is from an ornamental tree that is highly praised for its beauty. The seed kernel is edible. Eaten raw, they have a bitter flavour and considered to be tonic and aphrodisiac.
Numerous medical studies have demonstrated that walnuts have amazing health benefits and should be incorporated in everyone's diet. The anti-inflammatory effect is useful in patients with Rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory skin diseases. It also contains high level of Arginine, an essential amino acids. The body helps convert L-arginine to nitric oxide and this helps keep the inner walls of blood vessels smooth and allow them to relax.
Walnuts are effective in preventing heart diseases. A recent British Journal published that walnuts are among the plant food with the highest total antioxidant content of the tree nuts of walnut. The research concluded that consumption of at least 4 times a week reduced the risk of coronary heart disease by 37%, while each additional nut per week reduced the risk of cardiovascular and coronary heart disease by 8.3%.
