A question coming from my email says - "i was wondering that if after every workout i do some body weight squats would it increase my testosterone and help in building more muscle?"
Yes and no. There is a slight increase in testosterone, but that's not going to have any impact. And just some bodyweight squats likely wouldn't raise test either. The reason that legworkout causes testosterone boost (that I know of) is that you lift very heavy with very many parts of your body. It’s been proven that training compound movements with heavy weights boost testosterone.
You can do a Bench press; three sets of ten reps on a lower weight or five sets of six reps on a higher weight for strength gain, as these can be beneficial for muscle, which in turn will increase testosterone levels.
So more reps is better for muscle growth and higher testosterone levels.
