Dairy-Free Transition: How To Successfully Switch To Non-Dairy Milk, Cheese And Yoghurt

Congrats
!!. It's tough to break free but it's doable. I get it!! So much misunderstanding? I would recommend you go for products that don't contain sugar. That is - any veggie milk that has no sugar in the ingredients list.

I switched to non-dairy after I stumbled upon a really interesting study about Americans and their tolerance. Majority of families in the United State of America are AA and their reactions to certain food were always a mystery, until now. I do lactaid and vanilla almond milk. Lactaid is literally the same taste as vitamin D whole milk, it's just lactose free. The vanilla almond milk, kids live them with cereal, in pancakes. I use it also for cooking deserts e.t.c.

My 2yrs old cousin prefers the oat milk, while I like almond but we do still do carry cow's milk, cheese and yoghurt. However I love the oat milk, prefers that over the cow's milk. I personally have no use for any milk, maybe some oat now and again, but when I dropped dairy I didn't replace it. Just learned to live without it. So, lactaid is what I use for cooking as I'm lactose intolerant. I don't drink milk. Almond milk is okay and coconut milk is a taste you either like of don't. I have friends who switched to oat milk and love it. They typically use almond milk but according to them the ingredient's aren't really clean. I agree - oat milk is my second preferred non-dairy milk. Some of the others have quite a dominant flavour which is fine in some instance but oat milk is "regular go to".

Making your own almond milk is ridiculous easy if you want to give it a try. It won't last as long as store bought, as it doesn't have all the stabilizers e.t.c, but it's super good. I limit my dairy slowly as it inflames my allergies and I use almond milk for coffee e.t.c. I even replaced yoghurt by fermenting my own vegetables to boost the probiotics in my diet. Milk is the best almond milk. It's organic and made with only almonds, water and salt. Super clean!! I can tolerate goats milk cheese, so I buy raw Cheddar goat milk block cheese which is less processed, and use that when I want cheese. I would be very careful with non-dairy cheese, most are ultra processed. You should be fine with homemade yoghurt. So, don't necessarily rule things out until you've been off dairy for a while and are then able to reintroduced to check for reactions.

I have use my cheese addition to drive a daily salad habit. I choose only fata and only on a salad. It took a few weeks but I waved myself of it. Now cheese has zero hold on me. Avocados are my new cheese. It takes the place of the creamy on sandwiches and salads. Cashews also make great sauces. I use soaked cashew nuts for sauces and blend avocado to make "avo-cream". I have seen a few good oat creams recently that don't have an ingredients list as long as "your arm". So, if you have recently also become intolerance to oats, you should definitely check out vegan recipes, as they'll naturally be dairy free. However, be careful with soy milk. It mimics estrogen and has caused some people problems. So I would have to say "Go for almond milk" instead.
